How Can You Help - Things To Do
There are many ways in which you can help in order to play a part in Bike to the Future 2008 - Ride around the World.
Bike Riding
Participate in Bike to the Future 2008
You can take on the challenge of riding one of more of the stages of the Bike to the Future 2008 ride - either in England or mainland Europe. Just get yourself trained up, get sponsored and you are part of the team.
Organise and ride in a Ride around the World event
You and your firends or relatives can organise and ride an event that can be as long or short, as easy or hard as you want to make it. The key is to get the message across and fundraise for Pancreatic Cancer UK. Have a look at the events section on the Ride around the World page for examples of organised linked events.
Link a ride that you are already doing
You may have already committed to particpate in an organised ride, and so all you have to do is to plegde your miles and get yourself sponsored so as to fundraise for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Non-Bike Riding
Organise a Ride around the World event
You do not have to cycle to organise a Ride around the World event. You just need to get people together, ensure they get on their bikes and do some miles. A great example of this is the BTTF026 event which is a Garden Party organised by Krys Duvall in her garden in Seer Green, and the miles that people travel to her house, as well as subsequent laps of the village will contribute to the overall miles.
Organise other non-bike related fundraising events
Adele Rainsford, who used to be part of Les' girls' football squad participated as an athlete in the London mini-marathon, and donated the money she raised in sponsorship to the accumulated Bike to the Future 2008 - Ride arouund the World target.
Publicise Bike to the Future 2008 - Ride around the World
Try to publicise as far and wide the events that are taking place. There is some resource material below, and should you want any more, please contact us.
Organisational Help
- Provide feedback on the route - local knowledge about the roads etc would be useful in the preparation
- Does anybody have a camper van that they would be willing to be used for the duration of the bike ride, and which would be used as the ride support vehicle.
Partners / Sponsors
We are still looking for partners / sponsors who are willing to cover the running costs of the ride, this includes:
- Travel costs
- Accommodation costs
- Living expenses during the trip
- Provision of cycling equipment and clothing
If you are interested in riding one or more of the stages, please get in touch.
Both poster and sponsorship form can be customised by you to include the details of the Bike to the Future 2008 - Ride around the World event for which you are being sponsored.
